Long time, no hear from eh? Well I'm doing OK, I haven't fallen off the map.
I have to say that the past 6 weeks have been one of those big transitions in life. As you all know,
I sold the Silver Moon and things are going well out there under Mark, the new owner, as the
Broken Spokes Roadhouse. That is a big part of why I am writing today. I will be making a return
to the roadhouse in the cornfield this weekend on Saturday nite Aug. 18 from 7-11pm. I'll be
performing with my band The Blues Commission! I don't think there is an admission charge.
The place looks and sounds great and there is a new dance floor and stage. This weekend is
the grand opening out there with music Fri, Sat and Sun. I believe Brother K is there on Fri and
Steve Ditzell is on Sunday. It's going to be a great time and you all are invited. The phone # is
still the same 262 7245400.
I gotta say moving my voluminous piles of crap out of the club was a daunting challenge, especially amidst the heat and humidity of the past month and 1/2. Alas, I survived and I'm trying to get myself realigned with my newsletter et al.
I 've been playing some new places that I need to tell you all about and I apologize ahead of time
for not keeping you informed. I have been at Otto's Restaurant in Madison (just east of Gammon
Rd on Mineral Point) on Tueday nites with Westside Andy at 5:30pm. We play till about 7:30 or so
and there is no adm charge. Seating is limited and reservations are required and the food and
service is absolutely top notch.
Some extraordinarily good things have been happening at Harry's in Lake Geneva for the Wed.
nite jam with big big crowds and hot music. We started the jam last Sept and things are really
swinging now. Showtime is 8:30pm, musicians are welcome, no adm. charge....tons of fun!
Thanks to all of the musicians for the help.
Thursdays continue to be a joy at The Gun Club in Beloit with nice crowds and great tunes.
I play regularly with Matt Goodwin and we have some hopt guests here and there as well.
Bring your appetite and ears and get in with the good times. The food is awesome, the folks
are fun and the service is outstanding! Blues nite...Thursdays in Beloit.
Now in the "new place" category is Hemmingway's in Lake Geneva. I have been there every
other Sunday playing as a solo at 5pm. The decor is "Florida Keys" and very well done.
There is a nice dance floor, great food and mellow atmosphere. The big windows look out
onto trees and lawn...very nice. Come on down and have a bite and a drink. The sound is
I had a few gigs recently at Hogs n Kisses in lake Geneva this summer....I'll be back there at some point.

There is a big nite coming up at The Duck Inn on Monday, Aug. 19 again this year with "Blues and BBQ".

The chefs go nuts with this one! There is no adm charge however reservations are required. Everybody
relaxes and has a ball at this event so get on the horn and make a reservation for next Monday.
I think I will be at Hogan's Goat in Delavan on the Friday prior to Labor Day...that would be Aug 31st.
